- Annie Thomas Art - Silhouette Art and Paper Cuts
- " Who would believe that so small a space could contain the images of the whole universe? Leonardo da Vinci Welcome to the wonderful silhouette and papercut world of Annie Thomas. For over 40 years I have been drawing, painting and more recently paper cutting. I love all things fairy tale and nursery rhyme and my images depict these in their literal and symbolic form, dealing with the contrast between fantasy and reality. Whether you are looking for a one off commissioned piece of art work or some prints for your home, I am able to fulfill any brief. I also specialise in commercial art work and enjoy illustrating for a variety of market requirements, including animation and literature. To see more of my artwork please take a leisurely stroll around my Gallery and feel free to leave any comments in my Guestbook....... Section taken from the larger paper cut 'Oak Hollow' The Perils of Painting Orchids' by C S Grace (featuring my paper cut book cover design) is now available on Amazon in Kindle and paperback Visits All copyright and reproduction rights remain with the artist unless by agreement

About I am based on the Isle of Wight, UK and in 2009 I completed a BA (Hons) Degree course in Illustration at Southampton Solent University. I have always enjoyed working in pencil and watercolour but over the last few years I have adopted my identity in the medium of paper cuts. I like the challenging process, the intricacy of the work and the neat finer detail which is also a representation of me and the way I like to work. My paper cuts are about adaptation and change, the final images evolving only when the cutting has commenced. Not restricting myself to specific subjects or themes, paper cutting allows me the freedom to explore the things I choose, whilst having the flexibility to create something to fit any given criteria.
